Running Aces has a 10-race card with the feature rolling in Race 6, the Ron Banks Memorial Final with a $36,000 purse. Tonight's Spot Plays come in Race 3, Race 5, and in Race 10. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 3 (6:44 PM CDT)

6-Al-Mar Spicey Talk (6-1)-The veteran was in too deep in the last 2 starts. Now drops to a level where a win could happen. Mooney Svendsen gets the nod and that should help. The last time he steered it was picture time on 6-7 against slightly cheaper. Won that night at 30-1 and won't be that large of a price but still could offer value. Can roll late in the mile and be the best down the lane if not too from the leaders rounding the last turn.

Playing #6 All Mar Spicey Talk (6-1) to Win.

6-2-3

Race 5 (7:28 PM CDT)

3-Best In Show (5-1)-Won and then stepped up to this level and got a rough trip in a problematic race. Broke slowly, was 13-lengths back at the 1st call and then had to take the long way around. Was moving forward after being parked 1st over and did tire late down the stretch. Finished 5th at 7-1, lost by less than 2 lengths, and raced a lot better than the line looks. Casey Leonard sticks, comes right back against the same, and moves in a few slots. Looks like a main player and will hope the morning line price holds up.

Playing #3 Best In Show in a Win bet.

3-7-1

Race 10 (9:18 PM CDT)

8-Rose Run Zues (10-1)-The longshot draws another outside post in the 2nd start on Lasix. Raced from the backfield after leaving from the 7-hole and was pace compromised. Cashed only a small check but did roll the back half in a snappy 55.4. Went off a 74-1 and now starts further out. Camera shy 5-year-old will be another big # and for the most part this is a group that also doesn't like to win. Nick Roland steers his own trainee, and if he works a smooth trip Zues could light up the board.

8-3-1

Using #8 Rose Run Zues to Win.
