Tonight, the feature at Cal Expo rolls in Race 2, a California Sire Stake Pace for 3-year old fillies with a $6,500 purse. The very popular 0.20 Pick 4 begins in Race 8 and will be my focus.

Last night at the Big M the posted $40.50 Pick 4 ticket connected. The (6-8-8-5) combination paid $1,054.35 bolstered by the Race 10 winner #8-Its Chocolate Time who paid $45.60.

The drivers with the hottest hands on Friday at Cal Expo were Luke Plano and Steve Wiseman who led all pilots with three trips to the winner's circle. Trainers James Lackey and Lester Smith led conditioners with two winners each. 

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track. 

Race 8

2 - Western Fortune - Wiseman's choice has been sharp on a fast track and can comeback for an encore.

3 - PL Jalapeno - Looking for a price with a close-up trip for new driver Grundy. Camera-shy but worth a swing at 7-1.

5 - Mighty Fine Hi Ho - Beat $4k claimers on 2/24 and looks like a player tonight.

9 - Oh Yeah - Dropper and likes the engine so start will be key, look for Plano to rock early. Post makes the price.

Race 9

2 - Lumberjack Willie - May fare better on fast track, has had excuses and should like the company.

3 - Jazzmanian Devil - Svendsen's pick drops to a soft spot, hasn't won in a long time,  but will respect chances.

4 - Scary Harry - At 15-1 in ML I will bite and hope for a dry track and a great steer by Lackey.

7 - Bettor In The Bank - Has been good for new trainer and is another price shot that could knock off #2, the ML chalk. 

Race 10

3 - Totally Racy - Comes off 2 nice efforts for Wiseman-Plested and now gets post relief at 7-1 in the ML.

5 - If You Say So - 2nd start at this level and tonight the wake-up call could happen at a square price.

7 - Nighttraintovegas - 1st time Plano who takes over in the bike for the trainer. Can roll late with the right trip.

Race 11

3 - Bettor Play - Has been sharp and if track is fast can take a picture at a square price.

4 - Kiss On The Lips - This mare starts between the 2 chalks, if Longo can work a trip could surprise late at a juicy price.

5 - Getter Queen Flush - 8/5 ML favorite should be in the hunt, but wouldn't bet the rent money at such a short price.
