September 5, 2026

It’s the biggest day of the 1/ST BET Kentucky Downs racing season with stakes galore and co-features in the $2 million Kentucky Turf Cup and $3 million 1/ST BET Nashville Derby.

The 1/ST BET and Xpressbet daily $3,000 Exacta-Thon continues. Be sure to register for your chance at the bonus cash with winning exactas ($2 minimum) in at least 3 of races.

Let’s get to work.

Kentucky Downs: Race 6 | 4:21 pm ET
#10 My Boy Prince (9-2 morning line odds) is super-consistent in turf sprints and should get a fast pace to close into. Horses prepped at Colonial typically offer overlay value at this meeting and it never hurts to retain John Velazquez through the transition.

Exacta-Thon plays: 10 over 1,4,6

Kentucky Downs: Race 7 | 4:56 pm ET
#7 Burnham Square (2-1 morning line odds) will be tested for class against 4 international shippers, but he’s been America’s best turf horse this year and I expect old-school trainer Ian Wilkes to have him peaking in a money race like this. Defending champ #8 Ole Crazy Bone obviously proven over the trip and track for a Mike Maker barn that’s won this race 6 times. I’ll stand against the international runners, who’ve yet to win the Kentucky Turf Cup.

Exacta-Thon plays: 7,8 with 7,8,3

Kentucky Downs: Race 10 | 6:49 pm ET
#3 Ground Support (10-1 morning line odds) debuted a 100-1 winner here last year and should love the cut-back in trip after a curious trip in the San Clemente at Del Mar. Bullet works since are encouraging. Offspring of Army Mule have won 31% over this turf course the last 5 years and I’ll hang my hat here. Love the Kantharos offspring on this course sprinting so beware #7 Somerset West cutting back in trip out of that same San Clemente. Great chance to get longshots involved here.

Exacta-Thon plays: Key-box 3 with 1,7,12,10

Kentucky Downs: Race 11 | 7:23 pm ET
#1 Grade A (9-2 morning line odds) is another Army Mule filly that could pop Saturday at Kentucky Downs. She was an even fourth over the course last year and comes into her return in arguably better form in recent starts. The 7-furlong distance appears to be her best trip and will be finishing strong under Luan Machado.

Exacta-Thon plays: 1 over 2,5,6,7
