Race 2 (6:22 PM EST)

4-Heart Song (7-1)-Shipped in from Aces and put in a decent effort, stayed inside but did gain ground in the late going. Went the back-half in 56.4 and it was a month since the last start. Landed in the same condition but meets an entirely different group. The 4-year-old had a good year hitting the board in 15 of 27 with 5 pictures. Will look for better in the 2nd race in town and does have the speed to beat this field.

Race 6 (7:50 PM EST)

3-Maddog Jessee (7-1)-Except for the 8/5 program chalk #2 Seeyousomewhere, this is a soft bunch. This 3-year-old learned its lessons on the Fair Circuit this season and made its Nfld debut on 10-25. Aaron Merriman was at the controls, was bet down to 1/9 and had issues. Broke stride at the start, then rallied to get within reach of the leader but went off stride again down the lane and finished 2nd. This will be the 2nd start in the Gerald Maladay barn, comes back in sequence this time, and Merriman sticks. Should be a nice price and will rely on the breaking issue to be solved.

Race 10 (8:56 PM EST)

4-French Shaker (9/2)-This mare can tease you with the best of them, coming close but not sealing the deal. But now arrives at a level of past success against a beatable field. Drops, draws the 2nd best post, and should be in play early on. Pilot John Ciocca needs to provide a sharp steer, and if so, could pop at a square price with a top of the stack trip.
