Cal Expo has a 10-race card on tap tonight with a 0.20 Pick 4 that has a $50,000 guaranteed pool and a 16% takeout. The sequence begins in Race 7 and will be my focus.

My Pick 4 ticket at the Big M on Friday failed as a couple of Pompano shippers were ready at first asking and I underestimated their chances. The 0.50 Pick 4 combination of (7,8/1/3,10/8) paid $74.30.

Last night at Cal Expo the driver with the hottest hands was James Kennedy with five winners. Trainers Quentin Schneider and Liberio Pacheco led all conditioners with two trips to the winner's circle.

Race 7
1-Pancetta-Has held his own versus better, Plano should make the most of the rail and get into the mix early.
2-Prodigal-Gets needed post relief and should be in the hunt at a square price.
4-Julerica-Start will be key but may get on the engine without much strain and hang on tonight.
7-Army Of One-Svendsen's choice is 15-1 and if the cover flow is lively, may roll by late.

Race 8
4-Little Emma-Needs a trip and doesn't like to win but can't dismiss versus this crew.
5-Coastal Treasure-Often bet hard and is consistent, 9/5 chalk looks like a player but did falter in last.
7-Lovers Holiday-Won, broke and then had a tough trip. Could pop at a price if Lackey works a smooth journey.
8-Nutmegs Desire-Taking a swing with Plested-Svendsen at 15-1 in the ML.

Race 9
3-Bettor's Promise-Steamrolled Open II company in last and has beaten this kind in the past.
6-Allmyx'sliventexas-In the hunt but Svendsen will need to work a good trip as #3 and #7 will likely leave.
7-I'm An Athlete-Looking for 3rd straight and it could happen, but post might hamper chances.

Race 10
1-Surprisingly Sweet-Should be in the hunt from the rail with Wiseman, but not sold on the 9/5 ML.
2-Richellu Cowboy-Camera shy and there are reasons to discount chances but against this field best to respect.
5-CR Artistic-Comes off an even effort after a scratch, may get on the engine and not look back.
