ARCADIA, Calif. (April 13, 2018) - Santa Anita’s $500 April Handicapping Challenge shapes up as a “must play” for handicappers, as The Great Race Place and Xpressbet will guarantee $35,000 in prizes on Saturday, April 21.  The guaranteed prize pool includes:

• (3) Entries into Santa Anita’s Preakness Challenge on May 19 and May 20, 2018

• (2) Entries into the 2019 National Horseplayers Championship (NHC)

• A $10,000 Cash Prize Pool to the top four finishers, courtesy of Xpressbet.com

The total value of the prize pool will increase to $45,000 at 150 total entrants in the contest and $55,000 at 200 total entrants.

Horseplayers will be able to compete on-track at Santa Anita with VIP accommodations, or online through Xpressbet.com. Buy-in is just $500 per entry, with $300 going to the player’s bankroll and $200 directed toward the prize pool.  The contest format includes win, place, show, exacta, trifecta and Daily Double wagers on Santa Anita races on April 21.
