The Meadowlands rolls out a ten-race card tonight with the feature coming in Race 7, a Fillies and Mares Preferred Handicap with a $20,000 purse. The 0.50 Pick 5 with a $25,000 guaranteed pool begins in Race 2. The 0.50 Pick sequence starts in Race 7, it has a $50,000 guaranteed pool and will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 7
3-Cousin Mary-Steps up after nice start off the bench. Gets a good post, likes the track, and will use at 10-1 in ML.
4-Blue Moon Stride-Been off since TVG Final in Nov. but sizzled in last qualifier and looks ready to use speed here.
5-Penpal-Trip dependent but can roll late and if pace is hot could do some damage at a nice price.
8-Darlinonthebeach-1st start of year for Nifty Norman trainee with D. Miller, won 3 of 7 in 2017 at the Big M.

Race 8
5-U Need Stones-Makes 2018 debut for Gingras-Burke and could be ready to make some noise.
6-Lovely Lynnly-4-year-old mare will need best, has had a race at Big M and could surprise if #8 doesn't behave.
8-Donatover-His race to lose but young trotters do make breaks and 3-year-old has never had an outside post.

Race 9
6-Mattjestic Tempo-4th start at Big M and if cover flow is good should be passing foes down the lane.
8-Dr J's Kiss-D. Miller will have to work a trip but should be able to stay in the hunt, fits with this bunch.
9-Areyoureadygirl N-Some gate speed to the inside but if Tetrick finds a good seat could be posing for a picture.

Race 10
1-Tober-Drops to a spot where back class may show if minds manners.
4-Sweet Justice-Drops and will toss last when breaking. Might be a drop and pop situation and is 1st time Tetrick.
9-Possessed Fashion-ML chalk is tough to leave out but challenging post and is only 1-24 at the at Big M.
