Some of the strongest handicapping challenges at Gulfstream Park are stakes races on the turf, especially in the distaff ranks. and Saturday’s 11th race is proof of that.
The $75,000 Powder Break Stales has 11 fillies and mares set for the mile on grass, and no less than five of those are worthy of attention on the late Pick 4 card. Island Reward is the lukewarm 7-2 favorite and is included in the mix, but there are plenty of others that can make the grade here. Glory to Kitten, Inisde Out, Madame Uno and Silver Step each are capable of winning the two-turn race. For those looking to include price plays, this might be the opportunity.
Of the four races in the sequence, the final event might be the easiest to figure. Mo’Gunny and Momma Tries each have had plenty of chances but stand out in the race for 7.5-furlong race for $12.500 maiden-claimers.
The Pick 4 kicks off with the Miesque’s Approval Stakes at 1 1-16th miles for veteran performers. Conquest Sandman is an outstanding router on the front end but Fast and Accurate and Durocher are in good form and will get their share of support.
Also in the Pick 4 is the 10th race, which is $6,250 claiming race for non-winners of three and looks like a good chance for Yes Darlin, Tea and Cricket and Woodburn, the top three choices on the moring line. These are conditioned platers in good form and allows a competitive sprint.
Here’s the suggested ticket for the $100,000-guaranteed Pick 4:
Race 9) #1 Fast and Accurate, #2 Conquest Sandman, #3 Durocher
Race 10) #5 Yes Darlin, #7 Tea and Cricket, #8 Woodburn
Race 11) #4 Glory to Kitten, #5 Inside Out, #6 Madame Uno, #9 Island Reward, #11 Silver Step
Race 12) #3 Mo’s Gunny, #11 Momma Tries
50-cent Pick 4) 1-2-3 with 5-7-8 with 4-5-6-9-11 with 3-11. ($45)
