The feature at the Meadowlands rolls in Race 7, the Arthur J. Cutler Memorial Trot which has a $182,500 purse. Making her season debut and starting from post 12 is world champion Hannelore Hanover who has been installed as the 3-1 morning line favorite. The 0.50 Pick 4 sequence begins in Race 8, it will have a $50,000 guaranteed pool and will be my focus.
Last night at Mohawk the card was cancelled after the sixth race due to a power failure. The first three legs of the posted Pick 4 ticket did click as the 0.20 combination of 4-6-5-all paid $22.04.
Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.
Race 8
2-Mr Euroman N-Last 2 were good, should be able to stay in the hunt at a square price.
5-Ghost Pine-Went to the 1/2 in 53.1 and drew off by 8 lengths in last, anything close should be good enough.
6-Iwillmakeyousaywow-Likes the track and Tetrick should be sitting right behind #5.
Race 9
1-Donttellmeagain-Consistent sort and may enjoy the added 1/8 of a mile.
6-Music Is Art-In from Pompano and has the speed to be a threat if distance suits.
7-Lawrencetown Beach-Burke trainee and Gingras' choice over #8 looks like a player.
Race 10
3-Daylyn Horizon-It's an ugly race but this guy fits and holds his own at this level.
6-Billy Button-Usually on a smaller oval, likes to race near the lead and Marohn could get the top.
Race 11
1-Deerfield Beach-Drops to a comfortable level and could be sitting on a big try.
2-Chucaro Acero BC-Usually on a smaller oval but has won at the Big M and fits with this crew.
3-Rockin The House-Has been facing much tougher and looks like a threat here.
5-Big Stretch Mark-Abbatiello has had success with him in the past, long shot may blast out and get the top.
0.50 Pick 4
2,5,6/1,6,7/3,6/1,2,3,5
Total Bet=$36
