Tonight's co-features at Mohawk roll in Race 3 and Race 6 as the young ladies take center stage. The Standardbred Breeders of Ontario Finals for 3-year old filly trotters and pacers will be contested as well as eight other races on a competitive card.

On Friday at Mohawk the driver with the hottest hands was Doug McNair with three winners. Trainer Patrick Shepherd had a big night capturing the opening three races and then snagging another to make it four trips to the winner's circle.

It was a no go at Hawthorne on Friday for my Late Pick 4 ticket as longshots captured the opening two legs that were not on my radar. The 0.50 combination of (2/5/2/1) paid a hefty $4,424.75.

Race 4
2-Velocity Driven-Slow starter can work a trip from here, is having a nice year and will respect chances.
4-Mohawk Warrior-Didn't have much pop in last but had missed a start, could be sitting on a big try.
6-Shadow Margeaux-Likes the top and may land there without much strain, could pop at a square price.
8-Classic Pro-Comes off a rare break, classy 3-year old should enjoy the company.

Race 5
4-Talbot Romeo-Smoked the last half in 53.4, has a post edge and a race under his belt over #8.
8-Courtly Choice-2nd chalk comes off 2 nice qualifiers and could be ready for a winning debut.

Race 6
1-Quite A Sight-McIntosh trainee is a perfect 3 for 3 in 2018 and could make it 4 straight from the rail.
6-Percy Bluechip-Winner of >$440K last year, looks ready to roll in debut.
8-Play The Bell-Was a notch or two below #6 in 2017, but best to respect Coleman trainee in 1st start off the bench.

Race 7
1-Blatantly Best-Comes off an easy win, and will respect connections although gaps in starts are a concern.
2-Traceur Hanover-Drops to a more comfortable spot and should be in the hunt tonight.
5-Chapagne Phil-Has raced his way back into top form, likes to win and can make it 2 straight.
7-Shades Of Bay-Taking a swing at 10-1 that Henry will work a trip and be there at the wire.
