There's an 11-race card on tap at Hawthorne Race Course tonight. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 paid a hefty $12,017 last night. Today's sequence looks competitive and will be my focus. The Late Pick 4 begins in race 8 and has a $10,000 guaranteed pool.

On Thursday evening, driver Casey Leonard led the pilots with two wins. On the nine-race card there wasn't a trainer with more than one trip to the winner's circle.

Race 8
4-Sagebrush Shocker-Needs a few breaks and an off night for #4 to take a picture but will provide Pick 4 value.
7-Fox Valley Gemini-Looking to make it 12 for 12 and should keep a perfect record intact.

Race 9
1-Her Royal Hottness-ML chalk has been sharp and is dangerous from rail with Leonard.
2-Skyway Dusty-Should be tracking #1 every step of the way.
6-Summer Party-Racing very well and with another big effort could take top honors.
7-Dune On Time-Price shot needs a trip but if gets live cover could pop at long odds.

Race 10
1-Mobil Big John-In from HoP and joins the Johnson barn, Leonard's choice over #9-#10 deserves respect.
3-Sunset Dreamer-The speed is there but not the easiest to drive. Needs a good journey and will use at 7-1.
8-Best Man Hanover-Racing well but is trip dependent, pace could be hot and if so can roll late.

Race 11
1-Rockin Hank-Loses Leonard but comes off a quick mile win and deserves respect.
5-Why Ask Why-3rd start since arriving from CalX, looks like a spot to shine.
8-Flashy Trick-Comes off a win and claimed by the Leonard barn, could make it 2 straight.
10-One And Only-Another making 3rd local start, may find cover and should be a price.
