May 27, 2018

Hawthorne concludes the weekend with a 10-race card. The headliners roll in Race 2, Race 4 and Race 7 when 3-year-old trotters will be competing for a share of a $12,500 purse. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 sequence begins in Race 7 and has a $20,000 guaranteed pool.

Last night driver Casey Leonard continued his dominance with five trips to the winner's circle. Trainers Frank Petrelli and Mike Brink were tops amongst conditioners with two wins each.

The posted Pick 4 ticket at the Big M did connect but was very chalky as the $0.50 Pick 4 (3/1/3/2) paid $43.40.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 7
2-Don't Be Cheeky-Looks to be a main contender if minds manners, will respect connections.
5-Illinimight-Should like the company and if ready for a top effort could take a picture.
8-Cruzin Cassi-Another who drops and is worth a look, the trip will be key.
9-Majistic Caprice-3-year old faces tougher but likes to win and is a price shot worth a swing.

Race 8
2-Sports Cowboy-Short price has had trouble sealing the deal, only 1-16 but still tough to leave out.
5-Sagecrush-Seems to be racing into form and could surprise at a square price.
8-Special Sauce-Twice beaten chalk must be a handful for Leonard to steer, needs a smooth journey.
9-Sherriff Coffey-Anderson's choice comes off an impressive win, post makes it more difficult but will respect.

Race 9
2-Mocking Robin-Nice win in last, starts inside of 2 main foes and is a year older.
7-Icy Iyq-Comes off a sharp win with a 56.2 back half, may get a similar trip.
8-Over Speeding-Odds on winner from the rail, Leonard sticks and will need to work a trip.

Race 10
1-Cowgirl Too-9/5 ML chalk comes off an easy score but can have trouble finishing a mile.
8-Prettyfaceuglyways-2nd start for Trigg and Oosting's choice over #5, could be sitting on a big try.
