Hawthorne wraps up the weekend with a nine-race card. The feature rolls in Race 3, an Open Trot with a $10,000 purse. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 sequence begins in Race 6 and has a $30,000 guaranteed pool, it will be my focus.

Last night at Hawthorne the drivers with the hottest hands were Tim Curtin and Kyle Husted, with two wins each. Nine different trainers made trips to the winner's circle.

Foiled Again missed getting win #100 by a nose. Probably not my place to tell the winningest driver in the history of the sport he should have moved sooner. But it seemed like Dave Palone could have pulled on the backside and taken the lead, in any event Foiled fell short again.

Race 6
2-Melodies That Rock-2nd local start and Leonard takes a seat, a top effort could be good enough.
5-Lacarmeliliana-Camera shy but versus this field best to consider, should like the company.
8-Olivia V-Last was better, now comes back in 10 days. Seekman sticks and could be in the hunt at a square price.

Race 7
7-McKee Creek-30-1 in ML, taking a swing in 3rd start of meet. Rough trip in last, could pop with a better journey.
9-Al's Briefs-Had his own way in Cardinal, isn't on the rail tonight but will still respect chances.
10-Fox Valley Hijinx-Luke warm favorite is racing well but Husted will need to get some live cover from here.

Race 8
2-Fox Valley Maya-2-39 doesn't inspire much confidence, but versus this bunch can use early speed to get a good trip.
4-Frontier Ginger-Making 3rd start of meet, should be tighter and is in a better spot to shine.
5-Lady Day-Steps up after a sharp score and looks like a major player tonight.

Race 9
2-Final Gift-Oosting is back tonight and he knows well, best effort will make it interesting at 7-1 in the ML.
5-Island Campaign-Nice try in last, has missed a start but will respect chances versus this crew.
7-Big Thyme Shooter-Has lacked a closing punch but might be ready for a picture in an open race.
10-Dragon Jewel-Bates is between the pipes after a rough trip in last. Drops and could be sitting on a big try.
