Hawthorne Race Course has a 12-race card on tap to conclude the weekend's harness racing action. The main events will involve Illinois bred 3-year-old pacers and trotters. The 0.50 Pick 4 sequence begins in Race 9 and has a $30,000 guaranteed pool.
Last night at Hawthorne the driver with the hottest hands was Kyle Wilfong with three trips to the winner's circle. Trainer Mike Brink led conditioners with two wins.
Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.
Race 9
4-Dontwasteourtime-Makes 3rd start for new barn. Last was better after missing a start, could be sitting on a big try.
5-Piscotty-Usually has trouble passing horses but not the case in last win, will string along for an encore.
6-Trail Blazer-Needs a trip but can be a player versus this group.
7-McKee Creek-Curtin's choice hasn't been in great form, but this could be a drop and pop situation.
Race 10
3-My Kind Of Terror-In from HoP, camera shy and at 3-1 is no bargain but this is a suspect field.
5-Prettyfaceuglyways-Usually in the hunt and this could be the night for a picture.
6-Fox Valley Charliz-(2-41) lifetime but in the mix with this gang and could win at a square price.
Race 11
4-Powerful Intense-Program chalk finds a better level, looks like a player but not a lock.
5-Ashlees Cocktail-Another looking to get on the winning path and this is a good time to start.
6-Lilac Laurey-Cheaper but in decent form so rates a shot in this spot.
Race 12
3-Duneside Life-Caught a perfect trip for a lifetime mark, now can stay up close and look to repeat.
5-Dune On Time-Little mare is a big threat with a decent trip at a square price.
8-C Far-Fits at this level but the drive is the key, a threat with a good journey and is 15-1 in the ML.
