July 21-Meadowlands Pick 4 Analysis

by Al Cimaglia

July 21, 2018

Tonight, the Meadowlands rolls out a 12-race card. The headliners are 3-year-old colts and geldings trotters as well as 3-year-old filly trotters in Race 6 and Race 8 respectively. The 0.50 Pick 4 sequence starts in Race 8, it has a $50,000 guaranteed pool and will be my focus.

Driver Tim Tetrick had three wins on Friday night to lead the pilots. Trainers Tony Alagna and Jimmy Takter were tops among conditioners with three trips to the winner's circle.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 8
3-Hey Blondie-Looking for a smooth journey tonight and is a threat to notch 1st win of the season.
5-Piranha Fury-Hasn't won at the Big M in 10 tries but will respect connections.
7-Bill's Lady-Could race on the engine or off a helmet, like #5, a price shot who is sharp and may get a win on a 1-mile oval.
9-Looking For Zelda-Has won >$300k in her brief career, post is a challenge but with a top effort it may not matter.

Race 9
2-Ever Again-1st start for Burke, gets a better post draw and Tetrick does the steering.
6-Sprinter N-Big effort from 9-hole at this class, likes this track and looks like a player tonight.
7-Bruce's Magic-Steps up after a sharp win on the engine from the 8-hole, will respect chances for an encore.

Race 10
4-New Jersey Viking-Taking a swing Melander will have ready off a good qualifier, careful has had excuses.
5-Fly On-Tuned up here on 7/14 in 1:53 and could be sitting on a big try.
10-Misslarose-Was bet in last from 10-hole and broke. Tetrick takes a seat and this mare is usually in the hunt at the Big M.

Race 11
2-Go Big Spinder-Drops and has held own against better, looks like a threat versus this crew.
5-Bettors Glass-Won at this class in 1:49.1 off a nice trip 2 back, now back down to same class.
9-Major War-Could be a drop and pop situation. Probably needs to blast out and get a good early seat.

0.50 Pick 4
3,5,7,9/2,6,7/4,5,10/2,5,9
Total Bet=$54
