The Sunday headliners at Hawthorne involve two-year-old filly, colt and gelding trotters competing in Leg 2 of the Night of Champions Series. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 sequence begins in Race 8, it has a $30,000 guaranteed pool and will be my focus.
Last night at the Stickney oval driver Casey Leonard dominated with five winners. Trainer Ken Rucker and Kelly Chupp were the leading conditioners with two pictures. The Jackpot High 5 was hit for $193,708 (7-2-6-9-8) even though the chalk and 3rd favorite came 2-3.
Comments and selections are based on a fast track.
5-Wishin Iwas Rich-Back to a better level, gets post relief and picks-up Leonard, looks like a threat.
7-Big Bad Maxine-Similar to #5, drops, gets a positive driver change and should be in the hunt.
8-Justalittleparty-2nd start in claimers but this time comes back in sequence and fits well with this crew.
1-Wimple's Dimple-Quite a few gaps between starts but has speed and the rail so will consider at a square price.
5-Skeeter Machine-Takes a good drop and should like the company, will be tough with a clean trip.
8-My Kind Of Terror-1-26 is an issue but appears to be better of late, Leonard could work the right journey.
3-Bluebird Goldwyn-Coming close, need to consider off consistency, starts inside and this could be the time to seal the deal.
6-Legacy Kash-Steps up and loses Leonard but will respect chances to move forward off a maiden win.
10-Heza Real Shooter-Post doesn't help but merits consideration, positive driver change and has been facing better.
2-Rockin Kylie-Camera shy but worth a swing, could get sucked around and surprise at a decent price.
4-Finleys Filly-Team Leonard entry has had excuses in last few, could be ready for a picture with a clean trip.
5-Mocking Robin-ML chalk drops to a spot to shine, best to not overlook.
6-Big Tyme Shooter-Steps up after a nice closing effort off soft fractions, should be rolling late again.
