Tonight, Hawthorne features 3-year-old filly pacers and trotters in the Night of Champion Series Leg 3. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 begins in Race 7, it has a $30,000 guaranteed pool and will be my focus.

On Saturday driver Casey Leonard continued his dominance with five winners. Three trainers, Nelson Willis, Kimberly Roth and Terry Leonard led the conditioners with two trips to the winner's circle.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 7

3-Island Campaign - Has been competitive at this level and tonight shouldn't be different.
5-Mocking Robin - Won last handily at this class and should be battling #3 to the wire.

Race 8

4-Trotting Grace - 2nd ML chalk sometimes has trouble passing others down the lane, but should be in the hunt.
5-Good Design - ML favorite looks the part and could be ready for encore appearance in the winner's circle.
8-Maui Mama - More trip dependent than #5 and from this post that could be a problem.

Race 9

1-Shooting Cool - 1-19 is an issue but this is a good spot to connect for win #2.
6-Autumn Storm - Gets a positive driver change and this is 2nd start for new trainer, will take a swing at 15-1 in ML.
8-Ideal's Nicole - Counting on Leonard to make a difference versus a soft bunch.
9-MG'S Heartbraker - Comes off a nice win and will respect chances but this post will be a challenge.

Race 10

2-Southern Sage - Steps up after breaking maiden in last. Won on the engine and may jump back aboard.
7-Bluebird Goldwyn - Team Leonard 3-year-old needs to find live cover to be in striking range at the top of the lane.
8-SB Marvalous Beach - 2nd start for Roberts, was impeded in last and is 15-1 in ML. Bates needs to work a trip.
