Sweetontheladies doesn’t get a lot of play and despite being 3rd behind XY Jet in Gulfstream’s G3 Smile Sprint and 3rd behind Imperial Hint in Saratoga’s G1 Vanderbilt, he won’t get as much tote play as he deserves as he goes postward in the $100,000 Benny The Bull Stakes for Florida-breds at Gulfstream.

The Twirling Candy colt from the Henry Collazo stable doesn’t have a pari-mutuel PR agent, apparently. Those 3rd-place finishes came against horses that would decimate this group, but he’s still 8-1 on the morning line and will be an afterthought to a lot of players. He hasn’t won since last year but was 2nd in the G3 Gulfstream Sprint, a race in which he was 95-1. He was 91-1 in the Smile Sprint and 35-1 in the Vanderbilt. With the way he’s been running, today just might be the day.

The Benny The Bull Stakes is the 11th of 12 races on Saturday’s card and is the 3rd leg for the late Pick 4.

Mr. Jordan and Mo Cash joins Sweetontheladies on the suggested Pick 4 ticket this Saturday. Mr. Jordan also has taken on stiff company and is capable of running well against these, while Mo Cash comes off an optional claiming win.

Juvenile maidens get it started in the 9th, and while Trophy Chaser looks like he has an edge, Café Du Monde and Hard Count have some promise as well.  Trophy Chaser is likely the one to beat after his 2nd as heavy chalk in his debut.

Turf claimers make up the field in the 10th and Zitman has a good chance to pop in the two-turn test. Indian School and Smart Return also are worthy of inclusion.

After the Benny The Bull, the card ends with a non-winners-of-two claiming affair. Hard to get it down to a single, so Pomme d;Or, Diamond Majesty and Put The Hat Back are on the ticket. Put The Hat Back lost a photo vs. similar last time and seems to have the slight edge.
