The Late Pick 4 at Gulfstream Park on Saturday goes from one extreme to another.

”All” and “single” are key words for this week’s suggested ticket. 

The sequence starts in the 9th race with all nine entrants used. The seven-furlong race for older $16,000 claimers could come a multitude of ways, and because of the single, as well as using only two in the last race, it’s feasible.

The single comes in the 11th – the featured $100,000 Sheer Drama Stakes for Florida-bred fillies and mares. It appears the seven-furlong dash begins and ends with tremendous filly Stormy Embrace, who is set to win her 4th straight and 5th in her last six. The Circular Quay runner from the Kathleen O’Connell barn comes off an eye-popping six-length win over Rich Momma, My Miss Tapit and several other talented ladies in the Grade 2 Princess Rooney Stakes. She went the six-furlong fraction in 1:08 4-5 before breezing home in 1:21 4-5.

Anything remotely close to that effort gets Stormy Embrace the win. Thus, the singleton on the ticket.

The 2nd race is more like the 1st the others as five runners are represented. It’s a crapshoot for turf claimers.

The Pick 4 wraps up in the 12th race with maiden-claimers. War Pipe will get his share of support and will be used here, and Little Tequila looks like a threat at a decent price.
