Pink Lloyd is one stakes win away from becoming a millionaire, and he’ll be odds-on to win the G3 Bold Venture Stakes today during a great day of racing at Woodbine.

The $200,000 guaranteed wager spans from races 8-11 and includes, in order, the G1 $800,000 Woodbine Mile, the G2 $250,000 Canadian Stakes, the Bold Venture, and the G1 $300,000 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes.

Pink Lloyd will be the shortest price in any of those races, and for good reason. He brings to the gate a 16 of 19 lifetime record, and after an 8 for 8 season in 2017, he’s 5 of 6 this year, with the only loss to Kingsport. Repeating: With the only loss to Kingsport.

If you believe Pink Lloyd is unbeatable, Kingsport is one of the few that has proved that’s just not the case. Kingsport beat Pink Lloyd in the Shepperton Stakes three races back. And for that, Pink Lloyd AND Kingsport will be on this 20-cent Pick 4 ticket, which totals $50.

Kingsport has won two straight and 9 of 27. Distance is no problem, as he’s been successful in the short sprints as well as the longer journeys.

Certainly the accompanying turf races outrank the Bold Venture in importance, but Woodbine fans who’ve bet Pink Lloyd down 1-to-20 odds in three of his last five races will probably be as interested in this one as any. It appears they have a real equine hero on their hands.

The Woodbine Mile is the richest of the four races and is as tough as they come. Five horses are on this suggested ticket, including Delta Prince, Mr Havercamp, Oscar Performance, Divisdero and Stormy Antarctic. Any of those could get it done, and it doesn’t get any easier in the next race, as another group of five is used for the Canadian Stakes. Inflexibility could end up being the favorite and clearly is usable, as are Daring Duchess, New Money Honey, Starship Jubilee and Hallie Belle.

After the Bold Venture, the sequence ends with a potential knockdown drag out in the 1.5-mile Northern Dancer. Hard to whittle it down much, as many of these have lofty cred, including Mekhtaal, Utmost, Hawkbill, Tiz a Sham and Patterson Cross, all of which are on the ticket.
