Tonight, at Mohawk Park the top two and three-year-olds will compete in eight OSS Super Finals, each with a $225,000 purse. The Ontario Sires Stakes were comprised of five legs with the top point getters qualifying to race in the championships.
Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.
Race 2-Purse $225,000
7-Collateral Beauty-Looking for this filly to get a good early seat and at 10-1 in the ML will use.
4-Illusioneesta-Broke in last at Lon but so did others, gets a good post draw and should be in the hunt.
5-Magical Lady-Winless this year but minds manners and should be in the mix.
Race 3-Purse $225,000
4-Dream Nation-In fine form and Roy should provide a good trip, could be posing.
5-Okeanos-Will respect and last effort was very good, but usually lacks a finish.
2-Forbidden Trade-Program chalk looks the part, going for 4th straight, will respect but shoot against.
Race 5-Purse $225,000
8-Better Single-Post is a challenge but doesn't need the top, can grind way around and win 3rd straight.
1-Quebec Blue Chip-Has tailed off but best to not ignore from the inside.
4-Powerful Chris-ML chalk has a big shot, should be bet hard but is usually 1st or 2nd under the wire.
Race 6-Purse $225,000
2-Presto Chang O-Rates an edge from this post but has gone off stride in 2 of last 4.
8-Teddys Littleangel-Not a lot of gate speed inside, could get a nice early spot and win at a square price.
5-HP Titania Runner-ML chalk had a flat mile and won last, if issues have been solved will be a major player.
Race 7-Purse $225,000
8-Run Director-Has been tough in OSS events and looks like the one to beat tonight.
5-Jula Downtown-Has had issues but last was better, will use underneath at a square price.
4-Stormont Ventor-5/2 ML favorite deserves respect but comes off a break and will likely be a short price.
Race 8-Purse $225,000
1-Stag Party-Only issue is being idle for about 3 weeks but Coleman should have ready.
6-Bettors Wish-Very consistent, comes off a dominant win and is a real threat with a good trip.
5-Bronx Seelster-Another who shows up reguarly, 1st or 2nd in 10 of 11, best to not overlook.
Race 9-Purse $225,000
5-Quints Dream-Could be peaking at right time and will take a swing to upset #6 and #3.
6-Percy Bluechip-May blast out and look to control, if Gingras works in an a soft 1/4 it could be picture time.
3-Kendall Seelster-Having a nice year and if finds the right trip could come out on top.
Race 10-Purse $225,000
9-Jimmy Freight-It's been a long year, but this is home field, and Jimmy should be dialed on high.
4-Downtown Bus-Impressive speed, seeking 5th straight and Lasix hasn't hurt, major player.
5-Backstreet Shadow-Another in fine form who has won 4 of 5, should be in the hunt and battling for top honors.
