Friday, November 16: Meadowlands Pick 4 Analysis

by Al Cimaglia

November 16, 2018

Tonight, the Meadowlands has an 11-race card on tap. The co-features roll in Race 6 and Race 8, a pair of Preferred Handicaps with a $20,000 purse. The challenging Pick 4 sequence with a $50,000 guaranteed pool begins in Race 8 and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 8

1-Monica Gallagher-Windsun Glory - Burke entry fits and starts from #5 and #6 post, both are players.
7-Blue Moon Stride - Classy mare knows the track and should relish the company.
8-Pure Country - Champion mare has only 1 win in '18 but goes free-legged tonight and best to respect.

Race 9

5-Misslarose - Got the trip in last but fell short. Makes 3rd start off the bench, could be tighter and the last was in slop.
8-Chromeo - Has happy feet at times. Comes off a break in slop but has won next start following a miscue in the past.
9-Zlatan - Been off since 10/25, qualifier was fair but if brings a top effort, can beat this crew.

Race 10

4-Seven Roses - 4-yr-old mare doesn't win often but usually in the hunt, now Tetrick takes a seat and that should help.
8-If Not Why Not - Made up a lot of ground in back 1/2 in 1st Big M start, B. Miller sticks and should be a square price.
9-U Need Stones - Burke 3-yr-old might be up to beating older with a trip, leads field in money earned this year.

Race 11

4-Best Of Jenna-Gets a good post draw and has the speed to beat this bunch at a square price.
9-Cuts Like A Knife-3-yr-old has faced tough foes all season, if M. Miller works a trip this could be a spot to shine.
