Cal Expo returns to action tonight with a 9-race card. The races were canceled last weekend due to poor air quality caused by the wild fires that have plagued the state. The new 0.10 Single Six begins in Race 3 and the 0.20 Pick 4 sequence starts in Race 6. The competitive Pick 4 will have a $30,000 guaranteed pool and will be my focus. 

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track. 

Race 6 

1-Miki's Magic Ride - Competitive 2-year-old is in the mix, has the rail and Plano steers, 2nd ML chalk tries big track. 
5-Firstdibbs - 9/5 ML favorite is camera shy, comes off an even effort but should be tighter in 2nd CalX start. 
6-Outlaw Blue Ice - Nice effort in 1st start on Lasix, came home in .57 and looks to be a player tonight. 
7-Yankee Time - Qualifier was okay and if ready for first start since 9/11 does fit with this crew at a square price. 

Race 7 

1-Oh Yeah - Raced at HoP for Plano this summer, will take a swing in 1st start at 15-1 in ML, fits better here. 
2-Timetoplaythegame - Drops after a needed start for Team Kennedy, looking for better tonight. 
5-Musician - Faded badly but that was in a needed start, last was 9/4. Longo steers and this is a spot to pop at a price. 
7-Mighty Fine Hi Ho - Magee's pick over #5-#9 raced well this summer at Aces. Qualifier was fine, looking for a big try. 
10-Art Genta - 9-yr-old knows this track and qualifier was good, post makes for a better price in an open race. 

Race 8 

2-Almost Cut My Hair - Steps up after a win in 1st CalX start, gets post relief and will respect chances for an encore. 
3-Cantholdmebackmack - Tough trip from 9-hole in last but effort was good, using at 9-1 in the ML. 
4-Bettor In The Bank - Just missed in 1st start here, makes 2nd start for new trainer and should be in the hunt. 
5-Mister Hat - Closed in 56.3 in last and now makes 2nd start on Lasix, price shot in another open race. 
9-Mr Varsity - ML chalk drops out of an Open, camera shy and will need a trip but tough to dismiss even from 9-hole. 

Race 9 

6-Awesum World - Had a needed start here and has a 1.54.1 mark at CalX in '18, looking for a big effort tonight. 
7-Outlawintriguedbyu - Steps up off a 56.1 back 1/2 win on 11-10, could get live cover and pop at double digit odds.
