Saturday, December 1: Meadowlands Late Pick 4 Analysis

by Al Cimaglia

December 1, 2018

Tonight, the Meadowlands has a 12-race card slated to roll and the Late 0.50 Pick 4 begins in Race 8. That Pick 4 sequence has a $50,000 guaranteed pool and will be my focus. The feature is in Race 2, a non-winner of $15,000 in last five starts with a $16,000 purse.

On Friday at the Big M the driver with the hottest hands was Andrew McCarthy with three wins. There was not a conditioner on the card with more than one trip to the winner's circle.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 8
1-Still Friskie-Steps up, last was good, could stay inside and close late at a price.
3-Dreamfair Mesa-Bounced after a 1.49.1 win, looking for a big try tonight.
6-Major Authority-Positive driver change and could handle class hike, may blast out and control race.
9-Century Churchill-Drops but post is a challenge, has won here in quick times and can again with best effort.

Race 9
1-Calvin B-Frequent Big M winner returns to big track, best to respect.
2-Awesomeness-Even effort on a sloppy track and now drops and D. Miller sticks. Looks like a spot to shine.
5-Grand Theft-Aggressive try in slop as odd-on favorite failed, now steps up but versus this field will still use.
6-Decision Day-3-year-old faces older but could be a player at a square price if Callahan works a good trip.

Race 10
1-Legion Of Boom-Will toss last in slop and was 1st start off the bench, trainer off and Gingras takes a seat, fits.
9-Brookies Prince N-Nice try in the slop from 8-hole at this class, should be in the hunt but is trip dependent.
10-Indy Igot-Drops again looking for an overdue win, has the speed but like #9 will need a trip.

Race 11
1-Bay Rum-Back on big track which should help, looks like a player versus this bunch and should be a square price.
7-Cheyenne Reider-Racing well and likes the Big M, should be a major player if Merton provides a good steer.
