Cal Expo begins the weekend with an 11-race card. The feature will roll in Race 3, an Open Pace with a $6,500 purse. The 0.20 Pick 4 sequence starts in Race 8. It has a $20,000 guaranteed pool with a low 16% takeout and will be my focus. 

The 0.50 Pick 4 ticket connected last night at the Big M but it was very chalky, paying a mere $13.85. 

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track. 

Race 8 

2-Hi Ho's Little Rev-Easy win last week and now is back at the same class. 
3-Justabitcrazy-Drops out of Opens for 4th CalX start and is better positioned for a picture. 
4-Mystery Dragon-Racing well and tries hard, worth using in a competitive affair. 
6-Coz And Effect-Needs a trip but best to respect, came the back 1/2 in 56.2 last week at this class. 
8-Blue Star Maverick-Has been used aggressively, this is 3rd start for Plested and should be a price. 

Race 9 

2-Hi Fidelity-10-year-old steps up after a win and may stay good again tonight. 
7-Lookslikewemadeit-Goulet steers, if he works a trip this mare has competed well in '18, could surprise. 
8-Burn My Villa-Raced well off a tough trip and now makes 2nd CalX start. 

Race 10 

5-Almost Cut My Hair-Just missed at this class off a difficult journey, needs a good cover flow but best to respect. 
6-Mr Varsity-Steps up off an easy win for Team Plano, should be able to get on the engine or a 2-hole trip. 
9-Gravelsinmytravel-Drops and comes back in 7-days for first time at CalX, may overcome post 9. 

Race 11 

2-Camita B And E-Won 1st start on Lasix, now moves up, draws well and may stay sharp at nice odds. 
4-General Time-Drops after an improved effort and Plano sticks, could be sitting on a big try. 
8-I'm Blue Too-Moves up after 2 straight wins, fits and program chalk may be best again despite post.
