Tonight, Cal Expo concludes its fall meet with a 12-race card and there will be mandatory payouts. The feature rolls in Race 9, the Alan Horowitz Memorial Pace with a $20,000 purse. There's an $8,308 carryover for the Pick 5 and it has a $25,000 guaranteed pool. The 0.20 Pick 4 which begins in Race 8 has a $30,000 guaranteed pool and it will be my focus. 

On Friday at Cal Expo the driver with the hottest hands was Lemoyne Svendsen with the three wins. The top conditioner last night was trainer Bob Johnson with two pictures. The posted Pick 4 connected but it was chalky and was basically a scratch. 

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track. 

Race 8 

2-Outlawintriguedbyu-Has a win and 2 second place finishes in 3 CalX starts, worth a swing at 12-1 in the ML. 
5-Gran San-Went 56.1 in the back half but couldn't make-up enough ground, should get a better start tonight. 
7-Boozer Bruiser-Needed last and looking for a better try for the Plested-Wiseman team. 
9-Place At The Beach-Drops and likes to win at this track, looks like a spot to shine even from 9-hole. 

Race 9 

1-Scarry Harry-Winner of 4 straight drew off by over 6 lengths and is the one to beat. 
2-Mighty Fine Hi-Ho-Passed 4 horses in the lane off a rough trip, probably the best chance to knock-off #1. 

Race 10 

4-Glad To Meet Ya--Last was better after break on 11/30, Plano steers again and has won 4 out of 11 at CalX. 
5-First Dibbs-Don't like the 1-32 in 2018, but comes off a nice try from the 9-hole. 
7-Here Comes The Thundr-Getting a ++ driver change, and Sobey and Schneider are having a nice meet, will use at a price. 

Race 11 

1-Uringoodhands-Drew off by 5 lengths as odds-on chalk, has won 45% of CalX starts and best to respect. 
2-Chief Saratoga-Needs a trip in 2nd start for Magee, last was better and upswing may continue. 
3-Major Jesse-Plano's choice over 2 others, drops and might be in a more comfortable spot. 
4-Silent Rescue-Camera shy longshot needs a trip, but has been trying hard and if #1 falters this is wide open.
