1.50 (8:50AM ET) Matchbook Betting Exchange Handicap
GARCIA
He had an encouraging debut over a mile and a quarter at York last month, only being beaten by just over a length. He was held up that day, which doesn’t always suit horses at York, so I can definitely see an improvement coming here.
2.25 (9:25AM ET) Qatar Vintage Stakes (Group 2)
SEAHENGE
Another Ryan Moore ride here. I thought Seahenge looked very green when winning comfortably at Naas and Aidan O’Brien doesn’t have too many two-year-olds that win first time out. Aidan would have had a number of horses to choose from for this race and it’s telling that he selected Seahenge.
3.00 (10:00AM ET) Qatar Lennox Stakes (Group 2)
LIMATO
He wouldn’t want the ground any softer than good. I think he has his confidence back after the setback in Dubai and is improving slowly in every race and should be spot on for this. I also like Home Of The Brave; the draw is always important at Goodwood and he is drawn in one which is a big advantage.
3.35 (10:35AM ET) Qatar Goodwood Cup Stakes (Group 1)
BIG ORANGE
This horse is in great form and I know the lads at the yard are really happy with him, as he looks to win this race for a third time in a row. He doesn’t want a lot of rain and the forecast is so far looking favourable. Elsewhere I like James Fanshawe’s in-form Higher Power as an each-way chance. He won the Northumberland Plate carrying a weight that no horse has done in a long time which was a great performance.
