The Sunday night feature at Hawthorne Racecourse rolls in Race 5, an Open Trot with a $12,000 purse. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 begins in Race 8. It's a competitive sequence with a $20,000 guaranteed pool and my $48 ticket is posted below.
Comments and selections are based on a fast track.
Race 8
1-Lousraptor-Should be the winner with a clean trip but this is only 3rd start of year and pilot isn't strong.
3-Count On It-Comes off a nice qualifier and could win first start off the bench at a square price.
4-Trottincadillac-Gets a positive driver change and drops in 2nd start at Haw, will respect Indy invader.
6-Freddie Da Fox-4-year-old gelding drops, last on an off-track was good, could get 1st Haw win with a solid steer.
Race 9
4-Franksnativewestrn-Raced well in season debut but was wide most of the way, could score with the right trip.
5-Ten High-0-15 but raced well for Curtin in last, makes 3rd start on Lasix, got a good post draw to stay in the mix.
8-Captain Mulzac-Fired red-hot off the bench and with a decent trip can make it 2 straight.
9-Americanboy-Tuned-up in 1.55.4, post is an issue but will take a swing for a price in an open race.
Race 10
1-Admit-Won in the slop last week and has come off the bench in good form, best to respect.
4-Laugh Out Loud-Often comes up short, but now 3rd time Lasix, last in slop wasn't bad, should be a square price.
6-I'm Over The Enjen-Makes 3rd start and last 2 weren't bad but does need a good trip to be in striking range.
Race 11
1-Al's Briefs-Back on his favorite track and comes off a nice win, might trip out and sweep by for another picture.
3-Best Man Hanover-Many will single this veteran, and his best shot probably wins, but it doesn't come as often.
