The headliner at Mohawk tonight comes in Race 9, a Fillies and Mares Preferred event with a $30,000 purse. On Thursday, heavy rains turned the track condition to sloppy and Trevor Henry led all drivers with three wins. There were ten different trainers who snagged victories on a chalky program.
My focus this evening will be on the .20 Late Pick 4. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.
Race 7
2-Miracle Matty-Gets post relief and past races at this level from the inside were competitive. 15-1 ML says take a swing.
4-Every Time-McNair's choice fits well and should relish the company. Use here and playing against #3 the ML chalk.
9-Where Are We-Not much gate speed with this group. Thinking Henry blasts out and puts this mare in great striking position.
Race 8
4-Euro Gap-Upset possibility if McNair can keep 3-year-old on stride. Figures to leave and hope for the best.
8-R First Class-Post makes the job tougher but this son of Kadabra has been razor sharp in 6 lifetime starts.
Race 9
4-Forever Liza-Takes a good step up but JMac can keep in the hunt from this post and look to brush by late.
6-Wrangler Magic-Seeks 3rd straight at this level and looks the part of ML favorite. The one to beat with Roy.
Race 10
1-Cayo Loco-Leads the field in money earned this year and is back to a better level for success.
2-Ninette B-Another who should like the company and is a major player.
3-Topville Cheetah-Looking for an overdue winner and steps up after just missing as favorite. Roy's choice over 2 others.
5-Jump Jive And Jam-Gets post relief after an improved effort. Henry is hot and has a 20%-win rate with this trainer.
.20 Late Pick 4
2,4,9/4,8/4,6/1,2,3,5
Total Bet=$9.60
