GBI Racing Ambassador Hayley Turner gives her views on Saturday’s racing at Goodwood.
Race 1 (8:50AM ET) - Qatar Stewards’ Sprint Handicap
#8 - Rasheeq (8/1)
Rasheeq has a good each-way chance here here for trainer Tim Easterby and jockey David Allan. He fell out of the stalls at York last time, yet still did well to finish third. His best form is on soft ground so conditions will suit.
Race 2 (9:25AM ET) - Qatar Summer Handicap
#14 - Getback In Paris (8/1)
He was a course and distance winner two runs ago and only 3lb higher from that this time out. He also has form on soft ground and is trained by Richard Hughes – who knows Goodwood very well, havign rideen so many winners here himself.
Race 3 (10:00AM ET) - Qatar Gordon Stakes (Group 3)
#2 - Crystal Ocean (6/5)
He is a lightly raced progressive horse and will definitely like the ground. He could have finished a bit closer last time out at Ascot but I always think Sir Michael Stoute horses improve this time of year so we should see an improvement here.
Race 4 (10:35AM ET) - Qatar Stewards’ Cup (Heritage Handicap)
#15 - Outback Traveller (15/1)
I rode this horse before he ran well in the Wokingham. He hasn’t really had his ground this year so I would ignore the zeros next to his name, as although he hasn’t been placed he hasn’t been beaten by much.
