HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Writer/photographer Mason Kelley recently spent time with jockey Edgard Zayas to chronicle his daily life and provide an inside look into what motivates Gulfstream Park’s rising star.
The popular and personable 24-year-old rider generously opened the doors to his home, his car, the jockey’s room, and his life to give Kelley and Thoroughbred racing fans all-access passes to ‘Blessed.’
‘Blessed,’ in which Kelley showcases Zayas’ personal and professional lives with a colorful collection of photographs and slides and a well-crafted written narrative, can be accessed at: www.gulfstreampark.com/racing/news-details/2017/08/13/a-day-in-the-life-of-jockey-edgard-zayas and https://spark.adobe.com/page/bwx7TuW68zHL6/.
Zayas felt blessed at Gulfstream Park Saturday when he was surrounded by family members, including his wife, Ashley, his baby daughter, Lilly, his father, Carlos, and his kid brother, Tyrese, as well as many friends, fellow jockeys and track officials, to celebrate his 1000th career victory.
Zayas, who achieved the milestone in less than five years, is, indeed, ‘Blessed.’
