The focal point of Sunday's card at Hawthorne will be in Race 6. That's when the Late Pick 4 sequence with a $25,000 guaranteed pool begins and is also the feature race, a condition pace with a $9,900 purse.

On Saturday, the drivers with the hottest hands were Tim Curtin and Mike Oosting as both made two trips to the winner's circle.
Curtin also steered the longshot on the program in Race 9 when Kickitwithkohler rolled home and paid $56.80. That big price keyed a nice 0.50 Late Pick 4 payout of $2,256.75 (7-8-6-2).

This evening my focus will be on the Late Pick 4. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 6
1-Are You Terry-3rd time lasix and LK's Nancy Lee isn't in this field. Interesting play and a faster pace could help chances.
3-Morgangetsherway-This is tougher company but has been sharp. Now facing mostly 3-year olds and is 8-1 in the ML.
8-Delightfully Wild-Steps up but sharp, another 4-yr old facing younger. Start is key, likes the engine.

Race 7
2-MG's Heartbreaker-Longshot play in a race without rock stars. Can be in the hunt if ready after a sick scratch.
4-Sagebrush Sue-Usually has trouble sealing the deal but against this field will respect chances.
6-Jewels Hall-2-1 ML favorite with Leonard faded in last after setting a very slow pace. Don't like price but tough to leave out.
8-Ashlees Cocktail-Leads field in seasonal earnings but hasn't done much at this meet. Might have found a beatable field.

Race 8
6-New Queen-2-1 ML, comes off a sick scratch and shows breaks in 3 of last 5. But if minds manners can take a picture.
7-Monster Toy-Paced last 1/2 in .59 and now gets Hiteman who can make a difference with trotters and is 12-1 in ML.
8-Uncle Buck-Sped home in 57.4, will need a good steer but looks like a major player in a tough race.

Race 9
2-Skywaybrenlinsfib-Makes 3rd LT start, first two were good and now gets post relief.
4-Forsumeoddreason-Steps up now, was freshened up for a few weeks and last was better. In the hunt if upswing continues.
8-John MD-Winner of 5 of 8 at fairs can compete with a good steer. Respect chances at a square price.
