Bet tonight's Hawthorne Harness card and get 20X Points!

Hawthorne's Sunday feature is an Open-2 Trot which rolls in Race 3 and has an $11,000 purse. The 0.50 Late Pick 4 sequence starts in Race 7 and has a $25,000 guaranteed pool. The tenth race Jackpot High 5 carryover now stands at $150,585.26.

On Saturday at Mohawk my selections had mixed results. In the first race, my second choice was the winner. In Race 2 my third choice won but if the three horses were played in an exacta box it would have been worthwhile. The (5-2) exacta had a nice payoff of $61.30. In Race 3 the huge chalk everyone played Ariana G won, but I didn't have the exacta. Race 5 was a complete bust and in Race 6 my top choice won and my third pick came second for a $26.10 exacta payoff.

Last night at Hawthorne, Casey Leonard had a big night steering home four winners. Driver Kyle Wilfong did well with three trips to the winner's circle and trainer Curt Grummel took two pictures.

My focus will be on the late Pick 4 tonight. Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 7
2-C Far-Came off a pair of scratches with a win and will respect chances for a repeat.
3-Jewels Hall-Racing well but recent journeys haven't been great. Can take a picture with a clean trip.
4-KZ Kool Desire-Doesn't win often but a 12-1 ML is worth a swing because recent races have been better.
7-Big Bad Puddycat-One of two 4-year olds in the field. Curtin sticks with this price shot in a wide open race.
8-Dragon Jewel-Program favorite fits but is 1-25. Could win but is likely a low price so will look to others as well.

Race 8
1-Party Belle-Has won two in a row at fairs and can keep streak intact with the right trip.
5-Skywaybrenlinsfib-Trying hard and had an excuse in last. From this starting spot should be a player.
8-Four Star Big Guy-Got left far back at the start in last as the 2-1 chalk. Leonard in the sulky again and could see a rebound.

Race 9
2-Are You Terry-Using Krueger instead of the #1-ML chalk. Fits and can win at a square price.
9-Boogie On Down-Post will make it tougher but leads field in seasonal earnings. Big shot with a decent trip.

Race 10
3-Dandy's Brother-Neither driver or horse win very often but may have found a beatable field with a good post draw.
5-Lotta Richess-If Husted can provide a good journey this tepid ML favorite can take a picture.
7-Dan P-Lacks a knockout punch but isn't alone. Oosting should have 4-year old in striking position.
