Tuesday, April 13: Pompano Park Pick 4 Analysis-$20,000 Guaranteed Pool

April 13, 2021

On Tuesday night, Pompano Park will have 10 races ready to roll. The 0.50 Pick 4 begins in Race 6. The sequence has a $20,000 guaranteed pool with a low 12% takeout, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 6

6-Beach Journey (5/2)-Former $5K claimer is in fine form and will need a top effort here. Using because if Hennessey gets the top and walks a quarter then most likely the only threat will be #8 who should get a good seat.
7-Tempus Seelster (7/2)-Doesn't seem to have enough juice to take the point and not look back. So, that means success will likely be dependent on a hot pace to close into and that could happen at a square price.
8-Casie's Believer (3-1)-This is the most versatile horse and the one in the best form. My guess is Chindano leaves and does get on the engine. If that happens without using much gas it should be picture time again.

Race 7

5-The Lionking As (3-1)-Drops down to the Open II class and that's a level for success. Should be blasting out and could wire this field or may take the pocket behind #7. Either route can work.
6-Burn Notice (6-1)-Gets needed post relief and can win coming off cover as well. Does need the right trip but should offer value and gets a new pilot in Chindano as Boyd steers #7.
7-Bj Lorado (7/2)-Steps-up after wiring the field from the 8-hole in last and may look to follow the same script. Appears to have the gate speed to take control, the question is whether that will be enough versus this kind.

Race 8

3-So Supreme (3-1)-Raced better last time for Hennessey but couldn't close into a tepid 101.1 half. This is a soft group but this co-2nd morning line chalk is only 1-28. Should be in the hunt at the top of the lane with a smooth trip.
4-Bionic (3-1)-Three-year-old colt had a sharp qualifier drawing off by >3 lengths in 157.3 with a 27.3 final quarter. Did pace the back half in 56.4 and looks like a threat at what might be a fair price.
6-Momentsthatmatter (7/5)-Does show some 155-156 race times and will probably be bet but there isn't any value at the morning line. Difficult to leave off the ticket but has had some breaking issues and was a sick scratch at the end of March. Raced up close to a 56.3 first half and then paced the back half in 58.3 in 1st start this year.

Race 9

5-Entranced (4/5)-Kadabra 10-year-old knows how to win on a 5/8's track and meets a softer group that is camera shy. Draws well, Hennessey should work an effective trip and if dialed on high there should be no excuse.
