The jackpot-style wager has a $458,914 carryover ($700,000-guaranteed pool) coming into Friday’s 3-day week opener … Feature races this week will be the kickoff legs in the Florida Sire Stakes for 2-year-old fillies ($100,000 Desert Vixen) and the colts/geldings ($100,000 Dr. Fager) … Nominations have closed for the Aug. 7 Azalea Stakes, which include multiple stakes winner Competitive Speed and unbeatens Kamar Taj and R Adios Jersey … Renovations continue on the new third racing surface, Tapeta, at Gulfstream and it’s scheduled to be unveiled in September.

-- Jockey Edgard Zayas went 6: 4-1-1 aboard favorites, leading the colony with a 16: 5-3-1 record on the week.
