The son of Belmont Stakes winner Union Rags earned an automatic berth into the Preakness by winning the May 4 inaugural Oaklawn Invitational, so he comes back on 2 weeks’ rest like the Derby alumni. It was his third victory in a busy, 5-start meeting at Oaklawn, which included a fourth-place effort in the Arkansas Derby. That performance gained credence when rivals Country House and Improbable came back to be placed first and fourth, respectively, in the Kentucky Derby. This is a deep-closing entrant from Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen, who won the 2007 Preakness with Curlin and was third here last year with 26-1 longshot Tenfold, also via Oaklawn.
