Noble Indy: The paternal grandson of 1992 Belmont winner A.P. Indy will be one of two chances for Todd Pletcher, whose Belmont Stakes record has been stellar. That mark includes three wins, most recently Tapwrit a year ago, and five additional runner-ups. Draw a line through his Kentucky Derby from post 19 and given his want to be a pace-presser. He had no chance that day. Now he gets the 5-week break post-Derby that has netted 9 of the last 18 Belmont victories. His Fair Grounds form from this spring vs. the likes of Bravazo and Lone Sailor has held up reasonably well after that pair was beaten 2 lengths or less each in the Preakness. Noble Indy figures to be sitting second or perhaps sent to the front in the Belmont, and be the pace presence around Justify. Doing the dirty work over 12 furlongs is never an easy task, however.
