Gulfstream Park West has Pick 6 & Pick 5 Carryovers

by Gulfstream Park Press Release

October 11, 2017

MIAMI GARDENS, FL – There will be carryovers of $25,175.33 in the 20-cent Rainbow 6 and $15,986.20 in the 50-cent Late Pick 5 wagers when live racing returns to Gulfstream Park West with an eight-race program Wednesday, Oct. 11.

First race post time is 1:15 p.m.

No live tickets were left in the Rainbow 6 after Dr. Cotton Jen ($83.40) registered a 40-1 upset in Race 8 of Monday’s special Columbus Day holiday program, leaving the popular multi-race wager unsolved through the first six programs of the Fall Turf Festival meet.

Tickets with five of six winners Monday in the Rainbow 6 each returned $628.40, while tickets with four of five winners in the Late Pick 5 were each worth $213.10.

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket sold, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those betters holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Wednesday’s Rainbow 6 sequence covers Races 3-8 and includes a competitive $43,000 optional claiming allowance for 2-year-old fillies going six furlongs on the main track in Race 6. The Late Pick 5 will span Races 4-8.

Jockey Luis A. Castillo won back-to-back races Monday aboard Tri Cotton ($11.40) in the second and Walterjeep ($3.80) in the third.
