Keeneland | Race 4
New $62,500 claiming level at Keeneland was first offered in a sprint yesterday and brought back today at a route distance. Oaklawn raider Silk Trade won Saturday, and rail speed #1 Background could be a second from Hot Springs. #6 Mobster Gun loves the track if ready to go after 11 months. #2 Order and Law has to show more early speed than he did in California to win the way this track is playing, but leading jockey Tyler Gaffalione knows that.
Keeneland | Race 5
Wide-open turf mile allowance where Keeneland’s 5 online public handicappers take 5 different horses on top. #6 Lilac Girl comes off a long break, but most everything Jonathan Thomas sends out is ready to go. Wide-drawn #12 Lakota Spirit and #11 Pioneer’s Edge also return from layoffs with a chance at their best. Layoff horses historically have been strong in local turf miles, though not so much this season for whatever reason. #1 Fast and Flirty is a must-use for a Brendan Walsh-Tyler Gaffalione team that’s really clicking right now.
Keeneland | Race 6
Everything trainer Ian Wilkes sends out at the meet has been on point and I love sire Into Mischief here on the local dirt, especially at 7 furlongs. #10 Melinoe gets blinkers in what is expected to be a big improvement from her first 2 starts. Wilkes also has #4 Paddy Gal. I like how #5 Teshima’s trainer Jonathan Wong has placed his horses successfully this meet. I’m going with the gutsy single of #10 Melinoe and we’ll try to separate from the majority.
Keeneland | Race 7
#7 Bakwena had no shot against one of the slowest paces you’ll ever see at Keeneland in October and still ran on for second. Expecting slightly more pace here and enough to get him the set-up. #6 Limited Liability has 3-year-old class, takes on elders now in 4-year-old debut, and Shug McGaughey already has 3 turf wins at the meet.
Keeneland | Race 8
#5 Scotland and #2 King’s Glory absolutely stand out here. You’d prefer to use both because King’s Glory simply looks to be lone speed, which is so tough to beat anytime, but particularly this meeting.
Keeneland | Race 9
#12 Rosy Tomorrows had a difficult 2-turn turf debut assignment and ran very well considering. That foundation pays off today in this turf smile, albeit a tough post assignment. Would single if not the #12 hole. Freydis the Red goes for a Kenny McPeek-Brian Hernandez team coming off a big Saturday at Keeneland. #2 After Eight returns from a freshening for an Arnaud Delacour barn that sent out the lights-out Grade 1 Maker’s Mark Mile winner Chez Pierre earlier in the meet.
The Ticket
