Yonkers Raceway has a 9-race card set to go. The 0.50 Pick 5 sequence has a $10,000 guaranteed pool and begins in Race 5. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 sequence starts in Race 6, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 6 (8:40 PM EST)

2-Pannetone Hanover (5/2)-This will be the Yonkers debut for the Burke brigade pupil and lands in a spot to take a picture. If the turns are not an issue this 3-yr-old should get on the engine. Does have plenty of speed and could be tough to tackle.
5-Shuffle Hanover (2-1)-Per Engblom entry does good work with favorable post draws. Morning line chalk looks the part and should be driven that way.

Race 7 (9:00 PM EST)

3-Itsallaboutfaith N (4-1)-Gingras takes the lines and has gate speed to use. Camilleri trainee should get the top without much trouble. Can be a main player if that happens.
5-Fortify (7/2)-Fits at this level and has been racing well. The Burke barn has been clicking with 24% winners over the last 30 days, and Brennan could work a successful trip from this post.

Race 8 (9:20 PM EST)

1-Burnham Boy N (7/2)-This veteran likes to win and has cashed the top check in 3 of its 10 starts at YR. Jimmy Pants should be on the point or in the pocket when the wings fold, and either could work for a picture.
2-Groovy Joe (6-1)-Should offer a nice price and is similar to #1 in having some tactical speed. Stratton gets the call, and he should be aggressive in this spot.

Race 9 (9:40 PM EST)

6-Buddy Hill (3-1)-Kakaley returns tonight, he knows Buddy well and that shouldn't hurt. Wired the NW7500 in the last 5 starts from the 7-hole and now bumps up. Best to respect, should be forwardly placed off the gate.
8-Pointomygranson (12-1)-Taking a swing for a price. Gingras sticks around for the last race and gets a catch drive on a horse with the 8-hole for a barn who isn’t setting the world on fire. Brennan stayed with #1, but this 9-yr-old knows how to win and has an aggressive pilot. Needs to have some luck off the gate but could get a close-up seat and the price should be right.
