Yonkers Raceway begins the week with a 0.50 Pick 5 that has a $10,000 guaranteed pool. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 7, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 7 (9:00 PM EST)

2-Rock Diamonds N (4-1)-Drops, gets post relief and the Jenn B barn has been clicking. Can post a win if Siegelman leaves and gets the top or the pocket.
3-Hickfrom French Lick 4-1-Drops to the same level of its last win which came here on 9-19. Gets the services of Mark MacDonald and it could be "go" time in a wide-open affair.
4-Speed Man N 7/2-Gingras takes the lines, which is a positive pilot change and could make a winning difference. With the new driver, the pedal should be down when the wings fold. If this veteran gets the top, he could be tough to tackle.
6-Coaches Corner 3-1-Has won 15 of 24 this year and is a perfect 3 for 3 at YR. Beat the same kind here last week at 3/5 from the rail and is now 3-1 in the program. Not seeing the 3-1 price holding up but certainly has a chance for another picture.

Race 8 (9:20 PM EST)

3-Walkinshaw N 6-1-Hasn’t won in a while but has been 2nd in 2 of the last 3 and bumps up. Should be okay at this level and with this post draw might get on the engine and not look back.
4-Layton Hanover 2-1-Drops, Kakaley gets the call and should be driven aggressively. Looks like a main player at a short price.
6-Ozone Blue Chip 6-1-Dropped in last and missed by a neck to DH for 2nd. Now drops again and should be a big threat with the right trip. Stratton gets the nod, and he can work a smooth steer.

Race 9 (9:40 PM EST)

1-Ballerat Boomerrang 4-1 The Laterza barn has been cold, and this veteran had a no-try effort from post 7 versus this kind on 11-6 in the first start after a claim. Could be wake up time from the rail and Brennan might play catch me if you can.
3-Heart of Dixie 5/2-Leaving the 9/5 morning line chalk, #4 Pedro Hanover off the ticket and will go with this 4-year-old who will offer better value. The DeVita barn has been clicking and Buter could leave and get the pocket behind my other choice #1.

Race 10 (10:00 PM EST)

1-Gentle Giant (5-1)-This is a $50k claiming event although some in the field aren't usually competing at that level. This will be the 3rd start since shipping here and all are from post 1. The other 2 races had some tough customers and fits much better with this crew. Does have enough gate speed to land on the point or not worse than in the 2 hole.
5-Topville Somrocket (2-1)-Recent form has been dull but has done good work in the past versus high priced claimers. Bartlett takes the lines this time and he could make a winning difference.
