Yonkers Raceway has a big 12-race card with the feature rolling in Race 2, an Open Pace with a $32,000 purse. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 9, and it will be my focus.

Comments and selections below are based on a fast track.

Race 9 (9:40 PM EST)

3-Ourrhythmnblues N (6-1)-Came out of the Holiday break with an aggressive steer on a sloppy track. Has a shot to get the top or the pocket off the gate and can win at this level.
5-I'm J Bee N (3-1)-Raced well on a sloppy track and hasn't had success on a wet surface (1-13). Not liking the 1-21 record at Yonkers but may have found a spot for a picture.

Race 10 (10:00 PM EST)

1-Bontoni Degato S (9/5)-Made the most of drawing the rail last week and posted a win on a sloppy track. Not sure how good this import is but has done nothing wrong at YR and will respect chances to double up.
2-Shopping in Paris (8-1)-Kept coming on a sloppy track to finish 3rd. Usually is in the hunt here, hitting the board in 10 of 13 with 2 pictures. Jordan Stratton has options with this post draw and should have in range at the top of the lane.
8-Manclane (9/2)-The price should be right to use from this post and raced well last week. Likes to get on the engine and Yannick Gingras could land there when the wings fold.

Race 11 (10:20 PM EST)

2-Lyons JohnnyJNR (6-1)-The last 3 starts have been on an off-track and hasn't posted a win in 15 races on a wet surface. Has a chance to trip out, a fast track would help, and Mark MacDonald is overdue to take a picture.
7-Stop Staring (5/2)-Comes off a win at M1 and has beaten better here. Matt Kakaley has the gate speed to put in play in the early going and should be there at the wire.

Race 12 (10:40 PM EST)

3-My Ultimate Byron A (3-1)-Tried to wire the last field after being off for 5 weeks. That didn't work but could get a cozy trip tonight. Should be tighter and hopefully won't be over bet.
4-Hound On The Beach (5/2)-George Brennan drove at the Big M and he is back in the bike again. Was used hard into a brisk pace and should be a player versus this crew.
6-Tin Roof Raider A (10-1)-Looking for a price and raced well versus this kind in last. Comes back in sequence, Joe B sticks and has upset potential with an aggressive drive.
