Saturday's Cal Expo card will have co-feature Open Pace events in Race 1 and Race 9 each with a $6,600 purse. My focus will be on the 0.20 Pick 4 sequence which kicks off in Race 8 and will have a $50,000 guaranteed purse with a 16% takeout. Last night's Pick 4 pool was slightly over $52,000, far surpassing the $30,000 guarantee.

Last night at the Meadowlands the $54 posted Pick 4 ticket connected for a modest gain. The 6/7,10/8/4 combination paid $109.95 on a 0.50 wager.

Race 8
1-Outlaw Goodnready-Will respect connections and has had trouble finishing off a mile, but difficult to leave out.
2-Real Roknrol-Steps up off a sharp win, Plano sticks and may make it 2 straight at a square price.
3-He Grins Again-Luke warm favorite is Svendsen's choice, fits and should be a player.

Race 9
5-Shesamysterytome-Steps up after a win vs. Open III competition, will respect, has won at this level on 12/15.
8-Delightfully Wild-Winner of 3 out of the last 4, and with best effort can score again, even from this post.
9-Directing Traffic-Post makes the price better and knows how to win. Plano can find a trip from this poor post.

Race 10
2-Little Emma-Slow starter may get some help from a swift pace. The ML chalk is #8 and she may blast out.
4-Awesum World-Using this 12-1 shot, who won 2 back versus similar, can surprise if ready off a sick scratch.
5-Lovers Holiday-Svendsen's choice over a Johnson trainee, can score an encore with a good trip.
7-Along Came Jane-Even efforts in last few but this could be a spot to shine with a good early seat.

Race 11
1-Justabitcrazy-Slow off the gate in last and will toss, looking for an aggressive try from the rail for Team Grundy.
2-Jump The Shark-Last effort appeared cautious coming off a break. Looking for more if minds manners.
3-Mint To Cruise-Similar to stablemate #2, could be sitting on a big try tonight.
5-Lumberjack Willie-Will respect program chalk and Wiseman-Plested combo but will look to beat.
