Jim Morrill Jr.'s career as a harness driver could be easily summarized in three words: time well traveled. The proof is in this brief synoposis of his 7,000 win career:

Morrill, 53, started his career at Foxboro Park in Massachusets in 1984. He was one of the leading drivers at Rosecroft Raceway in Maryland in the late 80s before continued success at Yonkers Raceway in New York in the early 1990s. He won the 2004 Meadowlands Pace in New Jersey on 58-1 longshot Holborn Hanover and the 2009 Jugette in Ohio on Showherthemoney. He guided Yellow Diamond to victory in the 2009 Breeders Crown at Woodbine in Canada, and returned to Yonkers to pilot Archangel to victory in the 2012 Yonkers Trot. He dominated for several years on the Buffalo Raceway-Batavia Downs circuit in upstate New York and ranked first or second in North America driver rating six times from 2006-2016. He currently ranks fourth in the standings at the The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono in Pennsylvania, where he guided See You At Peelers to a 2010 Breeders Crown victory and where, on May 13 of this year, he guided Indy Ingot to his 7,000 career victory.

Add it all up and Morrill ranks 21st all-time with more than $100 million in purses.

NEW ZEALAND CHAMPION HEADING TO U.S.

Lazarus, a three-time Pacer of the Year and all-time leading money-earner in New Zealand, is scheduled to arrive in the U.S. this week for an abbreviated racing schedule before heading to the breeding shed at Taylor Made Stallions in Kentucky.

Lazarus is 35-for-45 lifetime with two New Zealand Cup victories and $3.8 million in earnings. He holds seven track records at varying distances.

He will be pointed to two Grand Circuit stakes at the Red Mile in October and, possibly, the Breeders Crown at Pocono Downs in an attempt to bolster his dual hemisphere stallion credentials, according to several reports.
