Friday's card at Hawthorne will feature a $40,000 guaranteed pool for the Late Pick 4 due to a $9,147.22 carryover. On Thursday, driver Brian Carpenter led all pilots with two wins. His boxcar score with Lets Go Dune ($170) in Race 6 set-up the carryover.

Race 8
1-Fox Valley Pipa-Camera shy and only 7/2 in the ML. Has trouble sealing the deal but gets the rail and Leonard tonight.
2-Fox Valley Ruby-She'll need the right trip and from here Lackey should find one. Can close if race sets up that way.
8-R Duneshine-Another who needs a trip, doesn't win often but did last week. May stay as good and score at a square price.
10-Mar Dream-Claimed from Lackey and is Oosting's choice over the #1. Has gate speed and best to not overlook.

Race 9
1-Tookadiveoffdipper-Good looking Always A Virgin 3-year-old made it look easy at this level last week.
5-Major Bliss- Perfect 7-7 this year but was a scratch last week as track came up sloppy. Steps up but it may not matter.

Race 10
1-Delight Fashion-Best can win this but not sure about the short 2-1 ML in an open affair.
5-Heartland Desire-Curtin's choice over 2 others and longshot is trip dependent but can roll late.
7-Victor Bayama-Was used hard in last on a sloppy track. Smolin takes a turn, has speed but needs striking position.
9-He Gone Jack-Sharp and won at this level in last. Can make it 2 in a row with a good early seat.

Race 11
2-Bettormeboy-3rd start after a sick scratch and had no chance last week off a .58 half, but still closed in 55.1 and fits.
7-Lyons Jimmydean-8/5 in the ML and Leonard's choice over 4/6/8. Takes a big drop and should be bet hard.
8-Montero Blue Chip-Krueger takes a seat and will look to find good cover. Drops, knows how to win and price will be right.
9-Ohio Larry-Figuring there will be a live outer flow and McArdle 3-year old has some gate speed. Worth a swing at 10-1 ML.
